People often tell me that they don’t understand why they are not losing weight. They say I don’t eat breakfast so I’m starting out at a calorie deficit for the day. While you do need to be taking in fewer calories than your daily burn to lose weight, your body has not had any food in the last 8-12 hours so your metabolism has slowed down to conserve. You need to eat breakfast to get your metabolism jump started burning calories! I always start my day with a healthy breakfast.
Here are few examples of what I have for breakfast depending on the amount of time I have.
5 minutes to prepare and take with me.
- 22oz. Chocolate Shakeology Smoothie
5 minutes to prepare and eat at home.
- 1 packet of Quaker Instant Weight Control Oatmeal and 1 cup of black coffee
10 minutes to prepare and savor on the patio.
- 2 eggs scrambled in table spoon of olive oil (with Tabasco if you like it hot), 1 piece of cinnamon raisin Ezekiel 4:9 toast, 1/2 cup of strawberries, and 1 cup of black coffee
