One of the keys to making a life change will be to include regular exercise. Since this will be something that you do daily or least several times a week, you should find an exercise that is enjoyable. Here are few factors to consider when choosing your exercise programs.
- Fitness level appropriate: The exercise should align with your current fitness level. If you choose something that is too hard, then you risk injury or will get discouraged and stop. If you choose something that is too easy, then you will become bored and will not be increasing your fitness level.
- Time commitment: Determine how much time each day and how often your schedule will allow you to workout. Choose a workout program that aligns with those time allocations.
- Determine your goals: Is your goal to lose weight, tone up, or gain muscle mass? If your goal is to lose weight, then add more cardio to your workouts. If your goal is to tone up then a balance of cardio and weight training utilizing less weight and more repetitions should be considered. Finally, if gaining muscle mass is the goal, then more weight training utilizing more weight and fewer repetitions would be a nice choice.
- Pick something that you enjoy: Most importantly pick something that you enjoy doing and that you will look forward to each day. This is your time to do something great for yourself by relieving the stresses of the day and knowing that you just did something that will help you to live a longer, healthier, and more fulfilling life.
The list above are things to consider before selecting a workout program to ensure it fits with your current fitness level, time, fitness goals, and personal choice. Overtime, these will change and you can adapt as needed. Throughout, my fitness journey I have adapted several times and plan to continue adapting as I move forward.

Yup, that’ll do it. You have my appreciation.
